The NanoHive@Home Tooltip Failure Mode Search Project is coming to a successful end and the results are being organized, analyzed, and prepared for presentation in the Results Gallery, and for peer-reviewed publication. Notice will be sent when the Results Gallery is complete, and when the publication(s) are made. The next NHAH project is currently in planning stages and notice will be sent once it's been decided on, and as the project start approaches.

            <title>NHAH_QSMAKAS client application version 5.06 released</title>
            <link>http://www.nanohive-1.org/atHome/all_news.php#12</link>

            <description>
We've uploaded a new client application to NanoHive@Home (NHAH) - NHAH_QSMAKAS version 5.06. This version fixes the bug that popped up an error dialog which blocked the BOINC Manager until the dialog was closed. The progress calculation has also been adjusted so that WUs won't reach, and stay at 99.99% complete for hours. We've also reset everybody's maximum results per day to 50.

We recommend currently active participants to Reset the project once their current WU completes to get the new client application. If you've Suspended NHAH because of the error dialog pop-up bug, please Reset then Resume the project.

            <title>NanoHive@Home begins another run on Monday, January 29</title>

            <description>
NanoHive@Home (NHAH) is starting another run and WUs will be submitted to the queue on Monday, January 29. This next run will be a search for failure modes on 25 published dimer tooltips (like those seen in the nanofactory animation) and should provide for a couple months of solid work. It will be more like a typical BOINC project: there will be no restriction on the number of WUs you can process, all the WUs will be queued more or less at once, so there won't be any WU brown-outs while waiting for batches to complete, and WU deadlines are approximately one week.

NanoHive@Home begins beta test round 5.08/client 1.21/server today. A new limited-cache mechanism is activated for this round to improve the parallelization of effort for iteration-based simulations.

            <description>
The current batch of WUs will finish to end this round of testing. WU production will then pause while we address several issues that have arisen. There are some new bugs to fix to be sure, but we need to implement some mechanisms that help ensure a wider distribution of available WUs. This is to help enforce the necessary parallelism for our simulations, but also to make WU availability more fair. Email will be sent when the next round of beta testing starts in a couple weeks, and next time everybody should find several WUs available to them for crunching.

NanoHive@Home opened enrollment for beta testing today. Even though we're still preparing the beta test work and clients, several participants have requested that they be able to attach to NHAH now so that when work is available they can immediately begin crunching. NHAH work and clients will be uploaded next week.
